In an industry where digitalisation has an ever-increasing role, Aars Boligforening has taken a step further by implementing Byggeprojekt's digital tool for the construction of 18 townhouses.
“What we are pleased about is that we get to pack all the essentials in one place, and then we can keep each other up on the fact that you do not have a clarification until it is approved. On the design side, it has provided a better interdisciplinary overview.
As a developer, juggling between different platforms can quickly lead to a significant administrative burden and increased risk of errors. To overcome this challenge, Aars Boligforening has opted for Digital Review to maintain construction quality control and reduce the risk of misunderstandings.
"There is less email correspondence, fewer scans of large and small drawings to send back and forth. It's all in one place and we have control over what people comment on. [...] nothing gets lost in the shuffle. It's easier to be able to point something out on a drawing by putting an arrow or square and saying ‘This is the place we're talking about’.’
An essential value of Digital review is not only the operational improvements, but at the same time the long-term focus on the quality of the final construction. Digital review is no longer just a technical necessity for the developer, but a strategic tool that lifts the overall quality as a whole. For Aars Boligforening, this approach creates a stronger framework for cooperation between all parties and makes the construction project process more efficient and creates a better basis for decision making.
“Being able to examine it is a big part of it. It is precisely to be able to get a better product in the end, and now it may be easier to be able to see this review when you have it in one place.“
In 2023, the Building Defects Fund announced an upcoming statutory platform for general construction projects. The basis was to make it easier for housing organisations to create a digital overview of their renovation and construction projects. When the amendment to the aid ordinance comes into force, it will become a mandatory platform for general construction projects. This is a scenario Aars Boligforening has taken into account and has come up with in advance. In line with the new platform, the general developer must simultaneously ensure that all relevant documents and decisions are available and up to date from all parties, which can be a challenging process.
To that end, we have asked them whether they can feel the optimised quality with the help of Digital Review;
“Well, we certainly can! And it's easier to be able to document it. In particular, in the face of e.g. The Building Defects Fund — according to the requirements we have to meet.”
ByggeProjekt.dk has collaborated with the Building Defects Fund on how builders and building consultants can upload project documentation digitally in the future. Our collaboration with the Construction Damage Fund has led to the implementation of direct data transfer of project material - through the ICDD zip file format - to Bygalment.dk. Overall, the integrated approach improves the quality of documentation, as well as creates a more efficient and structured workflow for all parties involved.
“[...] it has become easier when we have a digital platform where we can put everything together; both from the consultant, the builders and the contractor [...] Instead of having to collect a lot of this information and having to upload it to Bygalment.dk subsequently, then we could make a direct transfer directly from Byggeprojekt“
